Our Beliefs
What we believe as a church is commonly known as church doctrine. Our doctrine is the foundation by which we serve God. The Gathering Global Ministries’ doctrinal statement has been organized into categories to assist you in understanding what we believe and teach
THE BIBLE
Every word in the original writings is inspired by God and is without error. It is accurate in all matters to which it speaks (spiritual, historical, and scientific). The Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the foundations of our faith, and we uphold them here in The Gathering Global Ministries. (II Tim. 3:16; II Pet. 1:21)
GOD
God exists eternally in three persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. The three have distinct personalities and yet are the same, which is one God. (Gen. 1:1; John 10:30; John 4:24; Deut 6:4; Matt. 28:19; II Cor. 13:14)
JESUS CHRIST
The eternal Son of God became incarnate in the Lord Jesus Christ, being born of the virgin Mary, and is fully God and fully man. He died physically on the cross, resurrected on the third day, and ascended into heaven – seated at the right hand of God. (John 1:1,14,18; 5:18; Heb. 1:1-9; 5:8; I John 5:20; I Tim. 2:5; I Cor. 15:3-5; Mark 16:19)
THE HOLYSPIRIT
The Holy Spirit is The Spirit of God and also referred as The Spirit of Christ Jesus. He dwells in every believer who receives salvation. The Holy Spirit also seals all believers in Christ and empowers (anoints) those yielded to God. (John 3:3; Titus 3:5; I Cor. 6:19; Rom. 8:9; I Cor. 2:12; 12:13; Eph. 4:30; Col. 3:14)
MAN
Man is created in the image and likeness of God. In Adam, all mankind fell into sin with the result that all men are sinners. Men are justly condemned to eternal judgment and can do nothing on their own to merit salvation accept through Jesus Christ. (Gen. 1:27; Eph. 2:1; Eph. 2:8-9; Rom. 5:12; Rom. 3:23;)
SALVATION
Salvation is a free gift of redemption from sin given to men by God. The only way to receive salvation is belief in Christ Jesus’ death, resurrection and confessing Him as Lord. (John 3:16; Eph. 2:8-9; Acts 4:12; I Cor. 15:1-4; Rom. 4:4-5; Rom. 5:1; Acts 16:31; Eph. 1:4-5; Rom. 8:29-30)
REPENTANCE
Man was created good and upright, but by voluntary transgression he committed sin. His only hope of redemption is In Jesus Christ. Repentance is a commitment to turn away from sin and every area of our lives and to follow Christ. Through repentance, we individually receive forgiveness of sins and appropriate salvation. (Gen. 1:26-31, 3:17; Acts 2:38, 3:19; Rom. 5:12-21)
PRAYER
Prayer is our ability to communicate with God. Through Jesus’ salvation, we no longer need an intercession to go between God and us; we can address Him directly. We believe that no monumental thing can be done without prayer proceeding it and continuing through it. We also believe in praying in The Spirit where The Holy Spirit makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God. (Ps. 145:18; Phil.4:6; Prov. 15:29; Mat. 7:11; Luke 18:1; Rom. 8:26; Col. 4:2; 1Thes. 5:17; 1 Tim 2:8; Eph. 6:18)
ASSURANCE
All who are born of the Spirit through faith in Christ can have assurance of salvation and are eternally secured in Christ. (Rom. 5:1; I John 5:13; John 10:27-29; 17:12; II Tim. 1:12; Eph. 4:30; John 6:37)
THE CHURCH
The church is the “Ecclesia” of Christ. It is the body and bride of Christ, purchased by His blood, and baptized with His Holy Spirit. The church consist of a group of believers voluntarily joined together in the love of God. The church is called to worship, praise, give thanks to God, and to be the “hands and feet” of Jesus. Furthermore, the church is called to spread the message of the kingdom of God and be witnesses of the resurrected Christ by the expression of spiritual gifts. (Eph. 1:22-23; 2:10; 4:11-13; 5:30; I Cor. 12:4-13, 27)
FIVE-FOLD MINISTRIES
The Five-Fold Ministries comprises of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers. These gifts are for the church and are given for the equipping of believers to spread the message of the kingdom of God. (Eph. 4:8-13;1 Cor.12:4-30,14:29-30; Gal.3:26; Phil.4:3; Rom. 16:1)
SPIRITUAL GIFTS
Spiritual gifts are God-given abilities through The Holy Spirit to serve others, i.e., “for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.” (Eph. 4:1-16; I Cor. 12:7, 11; I Pet. 4:10; Rom. 12:1-6)
CHRISTIAN LIFE
Christians are called to live a life of fellowship with God and to be of service to humanity by the power of the Holy Spirit. This service includes the preaching of the gospel of the kingdom of God to the world and loving them with the love of God. All believers are promised rewards in heaven for their faithfulness in service.
We believe that as part of Christ’s work of salvation, it is the Father’s will for believers to become whole, healthy, and successful in all areas of life (spiritual, mental, emotional, physical and financial). (I Pet. 1:15,16; Acts 1:8; I Cor. 3:12-17; John 14:1-3; John 3:3; Is. 26:3; Is.53:4-5; Deut.28:1)
ORDINANCES
The Bible sets forth two ordinances, the Lord’s Supper and water baptism. The Lord’s Supper is to be celebrated regularly in remembrance of Christ’s death on the cross, and in expectation of His return. Water baptism is an outward testimony of a person’s belief in Christ. Immersion is the ideal means set forth in Scripture. (Matt. 28:19-20; Mark 16:15-,16; Acts 8:12,36-38; 9:18; 10:47; I Cor. 11:23-26)

SECOND COMING
Jesus Christ will physically and visibly return to earth for the second time to establish His authority on earth. This will occur at a time undisclosed by scripture. So, we live every day in expectation of Christ return. (Mat. 24:30, 26:63-64; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Thes. 4:15-17; 2 Thes.1:7-8; Rev.1-7)
